On wide screen displays Far Cry 2 will only reduce the vertical FOV (Field of View) in order to match the displays AR (Aspect Ratio). The problem with this approach is that you actually see less on a wide screen display then you would using a 4:3 AR display and some people (like me) actually get motion sickness when playing with such a 'Zoomed in' FOV on a wide screen display.
This program patches the Far Cry 2 in such a way that instead of reducing the Vertical FOV it increases the horizontal FOV (as you would normally expect when going from a 'normal' display to a 'wide' one). It also includes a FOV Factor to increase or decrease the FOV (keeping the AR).
