PowerBar is a memory trainer for use by players and mod makers of Civilization III: Conquests. The PowerBar appears as short/wide panel centered at the top of the screen and can be retracted (hidden). The PowerBar has a "Load" button that reads the game information directly from memory. The information available to the player: A pull down list of the civilizations in the current game, their current gold, a pull down list of their cities and the current production in each of those cities. Buttons on the panel give the player complete control over all civilization treasuries, research, production and population growth. Check boxes exist for each function that turn on the features automatically - on a timer with an interval the player can set. Each civilization in the game can be tagged as an 'Enemy' or a 'Friend', which enables keyboard shortcuts when selecting auto options (ctrl=all enemies, alt=all friends). Each function has both Complete/Suppress options: scientific research can be completed in 1 turn or suppressed (never completed), gold can be set and frozen at a given value, a city's foodbox (population growth) can be filled or emptied and production can be completed in 1 turn or suppressed. Suppression options for production include denying all production, buildings only, units only or a customisable list of production items that can never be completed (select just settlers and the civilization can not expand until the feature is turned off). A "Donate" button will complete the selected city's production in all of that civilization's cities (every city completes the military unit/building improvement the next turn). Complete infrastructure or build HUGE militaries FAST. Map features include: revealing the entire world map (just explored or infinite vision), clearing jungle or pollution for a given tribe's territory, building roads for a given city or in every square of a selected tribe's territory and upgrading all a given tribe's roads to railroads. For each city, PowerBar displays the city's current cultural points with buttons to increase or decrease the cultural points to the next level. Using the these features, Civilization III: Conquests mod makers can accelerate a game quickly to any age to test their custom units etc. Players can alter their games (beyond just the normal 1,000,000 gold cheat), such as limiting the computer civilizations from building nuclear weapons (ICBMs and tactical nukes on the suppress production list) for keeping warfare strictly conventional. |
